Michigan Technical Academy – Mansfield Campus

Michigan Technical Academy-Mansfield serves as the district’s middle elementary facility. The academy provides educational opportunities and services for students in the metro Detroit area in 2nd through 4th grades. The campus received honors as a Skillman Foundation Aspiring Good School for the 2008-09 school year and has its sights set on a "Good School" designation soon.. The campus is located in Northwest Detroit near the city borders of Oak Park, Ferndale, Royal Oak and Southfield. The campus location provides easy access to the Lodge, Southfield, and 696 freeways and major highways such as Telegraph and Eight Mile roads.

The Mansfield Campus population consists of 245 students with class sizes ranging from 23 to 25 students. Students are challenged daily in the core subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading and Writing Composition with the rigorous KC4 curriculum model. Instructional delivery is data driven and closely monitored by the academy’s principal. All teachers are trained in the standard and current best practices. Our campus has successfully made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) every year and received a State of Michigan report card grade of “B”.

Mrs. Susan Williams has served as the Principal of the Mansfield Campus for 5 years. Mrs. Williams is an experienced educator with tenure of more than 32 years.  Mrs. Williams has served as an adjunct instructor at several local colleges and universities.  She has received awards and recognitions by many educational organizations as an outstanding educator. Principal Williams is a fully certified instructor and administrator by the State of Michigan.

The instructional team at the Mansfield campus is comprised of young, knowledgeable, creative and energetic instructors. All instructors at our campus are highly qualified by the State of Michigan and hold either a Bachelors of Arts or Bachelors of Science degree. Forty percent of our staff hold a Master or second Master of Education degree with the remaining sixty percent currently enrolled and actively pursuing Master degrees in the areas of Science, Math, Reading and Leadership.
