Michigan Technical Academy's PreK - 1st campus is home of the “Can-Do Kids”. Our mission is to provide an enriched, structured environment, empowering all students through a well-rounded education, emphasizing academic excellence, social skills and moral character. We believe every child is special. Our focus is to teach students to excel academically, as well as to respect themselves and others. We provide attentive and nurturing care for the students, while putting education first.
MTA PreK - 1st provides a balanced curriculum, taught by highly qualified, state certified teachers. Our curriculum directly aligns with state standards, enabling our students to be competitive statewide. By regularly partaking in professional development opportunities, our teachers are on the cutting edge of research based best practices used daily in the classroom. Use of the Positive Behavior Support model includes a wide range of intervention strategies encouraging students to develop responsibility for their own behavior while helping build self-esteem. Each child is valued as a unique and contributing member of our school community. Our students learn to work together as a team in and outside of the classroom; this encourages them to feel confident about themselves and to respect those around them. Our Special Education team provides a full inclusion program, encouraging children with special needs to become acclimated to the general education classroom while receiving additional services. Teachers at MTA firmly believe that every child can learn while recognizing that students absorb information and develop skills in different ways. Instructors differentiate the curriculum to ensure the needs of each individual student are met. Michigan Technical Academy PreK - 1st strives to develop children academically, socially, and emotionally thus laying the foundation for future success. Students are immersed in an academically rigorous curriculum which includes physical education, art, music, computers, and foreign language. By participating in the arts, the lives of our students are enriched, diverse, and a love for learning is established. |
